I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Robby Robertson (Clemmer Classic Tournament Director) to talk about the upcoming 'Beat the Heat' pickleball tournament.

Here's what he had to say...

When is the 'Beat the Heat' tournament?

The Clemmer Classic indoor pickleball tournament will take place on Friday July 21st, Saturday July 22nd, and Sunday July 23rd. All skills levels for ages 21+ are welcome.

Where will the tournament be held?

The tournament will be held at Southwest Athletic Center (SWAC) 2800 N. I-35 Carrollton, TX. We are excited about this air-conditioned facility - they have historically hosted large volleyball and basketball tournaments and we will now utilize the space to provide up to 24 pickleball courts. AND there's a great mezzanine where spectators can bring a chair and watch all the action!

What's the format?

We've enhanced the format to provide pools of 5 teams, you will play each team to 15, win by 2. Then we will create bracket playoffs - 2 games out of 3 to 11, win by 1. (if there are not multiple pools in a division, the winners will be determined by points.)

What will this tournament cost?

Beat the Heat Registration - $50.00 tournament entry fee plus $10.00 for each event you play. Our 65+ participants will receive a $15.00 discount off the tournament entry fee (applicable for Friday Seniors (65+) event or any other tournament event played by a Senior) All participants will receive a t-shirt.
